I don't understand a lot of things. But I think the exercise of trying to write about those things and sing about them brings some kind of subconscious understanding out from the dark furnace rooms of the corners of my mind, where all the strenuous and dirty work is done unbeknownst to Everyday Me.
Certain thoughts and feelings of a higher or more cosmic order interfere with my animal survival instincts and therefore are repressed. But just like early man drawing on his cave wall, I am compelled to ponder my life and what it means and attempt to express myself to that extent. I need to do this in order to avoid complete insanity when contemplating my mortality. I believe it's this awareness of mortality and this need to express ourselves and connect with others that unites us as humans. I mean, it's why you're on MySpace right now, isn't it? Or maybe you were looking for Tila Tequila.
