The Real People (or "The Realies" as they are known to their fans) formed in 1988 and were at the forefront of the sound which came from the north of England in the late 80s alongside bands like The La's and The Stone Roses. At the time they were the biggest of the new Liverpool rock and roll bands who ushered out the synth-led 80s and brought in the rock and roll guitar attitude of the early 90s. Quoted by Oasis as one of their biggest influences, on their 20th anniversary The Real People remain one of THE truly great bands as the fervour and love of their fans continues to prove and they remain in the “must see” category.
