My name is Buck Allen, I'm a NSAI songwriter from Hurley, Mississippi. I've been in Iraq for the last 31 months working as a firefighter. I write songs from life's expierences, so I think people can relate to what I'm writing about. Music is a powerful tool, a simple song can do so much to influence other peoples lives.
My cds "Made in Iraq" and "Looking For A Deal" is all country and bluegrass, what I call SWAMPGRASS All of the songs you'll hear on my page were recorded in Iraq on my laptop. For $20.00 I bought a microphone and a set of headphones from an Iraqi man. Brorrowed a MAGIX program and recorded 21 songs. The quality of the recordings aren't great, but I'm very proud to have out there. I started recording it in a conex trailer when the temp. was over a 100* at night and 130* during the day( IT WAS BLOODY HOT). So give it a listen, I hope you like it. Please leave me feedback, good or bad it all helps me grow as a writer.
If you've read all the to here, PLEASE take another moment and send me a friend request.

Hey Buck, if I time this right I'll be sitting on Teddy's head in Denmark. Gotta watch where I sit however, 'cause he has a spear with him fighting knuckleheads who took away a lot of retirement funds from those who trusted congress and the big boys on wall street. Hope he spears a few bucks back from the big wigs. Have a great day my friend. Thought you might like my bumper sticker on our dear firefighters. Take care and stay safe my brother. Have a fine Firefighter Day in the desert sands. Warm regards, your buddy over in Arkansas, Bruce and sometimes Georgia when I'm not working for the Air Force at Little Rock.
Ryan was sitting here playing the guitar for me tonight and he started playing "Heaven Sent"---and I was wanting to see if you could maybe add it to your page so I can put it on my profile???? I really love it----and if you don't wanna do it for me---atleast do it for Oscar :)
Hey Buck, thought I'd set up the bar for your weekend selection. Know ya can't find this over in the shifting desert sands, but thought you'd like to remember what a Saturday night is like back home. A bit of sad news. Our mutual friend Penni McLaren Walker's mom died earlier this morning. Thought you might want to know. Stay safe my brother, keep a low profile, TC, TTYL, your friend Bruce.
Hey Brother Buck, memories from my generation in Vietnam. Sending you a view of the III MAF R&R Center at China Beach, Danang East, Vietnam, from August 1966. I designed the Center (this photo shows the amphitheater and snack bar, with China Beach and the South China Sea in the background) and my Seabee battalion NMCB-11 constructed it. The 11th Construction Battalion served four consecutive tours in 'Nam serving with the U.S. Marines from 1966-1969. So, it was not all war and work; occasionally there was a little R&R time off...very little. All my best to you and your fellow firefighters in Iraq. Keep a low profile. Penni from the UK and the tin man Teddy from Denmark, our totem pole buddies, say hi. Warm Regards. Stay safe. Your buddy, Bruce
Hope all will be well back at your home in Mississippi. Know you are far, far away, in the desert sands, but will be praying for you and your family as Hurricane Gustav heads ashore
