The three Bucksters met accidentally in January 2006 at the unlikely setting of a suburban Buddhist Disco in in North London. Being the only three men in attendance with hair on top of their heads - Andy, Dom and Craig found themselves backed into a corner after the disco turned into a sedate chant-fest.
The three lads quickly discovered that they had more than just follicular abundance in common and joined forces at an East London rehearsal studio a week later. And it was here that the Buck Brothers sound was born.
The name comes from a now defunct Porn company that guitarist Dom used to work for.
In late October '07, Buck Brothers' debut album, ‘Me’, entered the CMJ Top 200 National Chart in the USA (this is the American College Radio Chart) and has taken US commercial radio by storm with the band's 'She's Red' reaching Number 7 in March '08 (source: KKBB/FMBQ). In addition, 'Girls, Skirts, Boots, Bikes' hit Number 9 a month earlier.
'Girls, Skirts, Boots, Bikes', the band's first single has become the most requested song on uber DJ legend Rodney Bingenheimer's "Rodney on the Roq' show on LA's world famous KROQ radio station. The DJ, also known as 'The Mayor of the Sunset Strip', has fallen in love with Buck Brothers and has been spinning this track for 5 months in a row. Bingenheimer also introduced the band on the first date of the March 2008 USA Tour at Key Club on LA's Sunset Strip - the first time he's introduced a band in three years.
“It sounds like London in the late 70's. Buck Brothers could easily be on the bill at 100 Club back in the day... The tracks are catchy and addictive. It's no wonder that they’ve played and were nominated for music awards all over the US and Canada.” –Nancy Roxx www.mapsmagazine.co.uk
*The band have toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe, North America and made their Russian debut supporting Primal Scream in July 2007. They’ve played with Goldfinger, The Buzzcocks, Comeback Kid, Babyshambles, The Futureheads, the Maccabees and even DIzzy Rascal. In 2008 they toured the US from LA to NYC via SXSW in Texas where the band had the honour of playing the Viper Room Swinghouse Studios Party. US Pop Punk Megastars Goldfinger invited Buck Brothers to support them on their UK Tour in August 2008 and on the following month, the trio became the first band in 30 years to perform at the "House of Lords" in London.
