Buck likes Elvis, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Stones, Hendrix, The Ramones, Ryan Adams...less obvious names (too many to mention)...people that affect public perception or at least have fun trying. Beat writers have been a big influence on him too, and Henry Miller.
Deanne has always been moved by traditional choral singing, folk harmonies (arranged and improvised) and contemporary harmony groups like The Beach boys, The Eagles, Crosby-Stills-Nash-Young, The Bee Gees. Chick singers with earthy, belter voices from the folk and blues genres get a big nod too.
Sounds Like
Bob Dylan & Joan Baez, Truckstop Honeymoon, Johnny & June, Sonny & Cher, Tuck & Patty, R & J Stone, Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers, Jackie Trent & Tony Hatch, The Moir Sisters, Bert & Patti, Derick & Clive, Morcombe & Wise, Ren and Stimpy, The Two Ronnies, Mickey & Maude, Anthony & Cleopatra, Romeo & Juliet, Barbie & Ken,
The story of Buck and Deanne began in the church at Majors Creek Festival 2006 when Buck was first impressed by Deanne's warm alto tones. Their undeniable chemistry ensured that a friendship quickly blossomed into a romantic musical collaboration that has delighted and uplifted audiences from Perth to Sydney. Together they collaborate on Buck's original material as well as placing their own special arrangements on traditional blues, pop and folk classics.
Thanks Deanne, look forward to seeing you both play at Macquarie Towns Music Club in August. As for Health, hmmm, well I'm still on that ship but I've begun noticing that my feet are getting quite wet and the sharks are circling...
Good to meet and listen in "realspace" last night and now in the cyber universe. Be great if you can make it on 5th June. Let me know if you're a'gigging here in the flat lands.
Ditto to you both - I am slowly (very slowly!) getting back into the 'folk' loop. So it will be great to see and hear you both again sometime. Its always nice to see a friendly face around the circuit.
