   About Buckeye
I was messing with the one-man band thing and was using some shitty homemade foot drums. Phil, who was recently named 'The Menace' by a Birmingham district court judge, has been a friend of mine since I moved to AL. I knew he had a drum kit and used to play so I asked to borrow his hi-hats and bass drum. Then I thought, "I suck ass at this one-man band bullshit, why don't I just get him to play his own damn drums." So in place of my incoordination, I added another set of arms. And 'Buckeye' was born. We record just like we play, at the same time. Two folks and all the noise we can bring. Most of our microphones are homemade. We used a lot of duct tape. Now most of our time is spent working, playing junkyard music, climbing higher than one ought to without ropes, trying to keep the old lady from leaving, and (in my case) making guitars that can chew the 'nads off your Taylor...if you want one I'll make you one. [buck-eye (n.): a charm thought to bring good fortune in sexual matters (likely due to the 'doctrine of signatures' and that which it obviously resembles), to aid in prevention of rheumatism, arthritis, or headache, and to increase one's supply of pocket money.]

Cigar Box Guitar Headquarters

Jun 21 2007 8:56 PM

I spent the last few days building the new Cigar Box Guitar Headquarters, CBG HQ - the base camp for the Cigar Box Guitar Revolution! The stage for Prim Rock. Your barracks from now on.

ATTEN-SHUN - PRESENT ARMS!

CBG HQ is a comprehensive, interactive resource for ALL THINGS Cigar Box Guitar. Stop by for music, videos & pics, history, CD & concert reviews, building tips/links, performance schedules, CD & instrument sales, interviews, art and anything else y'all want to see. All submissions are encouraged!

I posted a few of the videos I shot at the 2007 Cigar Box Guitar Extravaganza, and a link to more. There are a lot of photos of the instruments in the National Cigar Box Guitar Museum, and a link to the entire collection. You can also link to the Cigar Box Guitar Forum and chat with fellow CBG addicts. We even have a 24/7 internet radio station!

If you have anything you want to share, let me know and I'll add it.

You are now embedded behind the front lines. Grab your weapons and join the Revolution.

THAT'S AN ORDER SOLDIER!

Cigar Box Guitar Headquarters

Check it out, but be ready for Cigar Box Guitars to change your life...

**** Ted - 4 String General in the CBG Revolution

ADD CBG HQ TO YOUR FAVORITE FRIENDS!

(I will keep the membership pure. I won't troll for friends just to see how many I can collect. I won't approve a friend request unless I think you have something to add. I won't post spam comments and I probably won't approve your comment if I suspect a bot sent it and you never visited the page. Anyone can visit, but if you want to register I expect you to contribute or ask questions of the battalion. So spank me.)

Hi Kirk!

Box Fetish Blues really struck a chord. Arf arf. Same with Dog in the Ground.

Some cool looking guitars you got there. Any other pics of that lap steel looking thing?

only one of your songs would play for me, but it was damn good. What kind of money are you asking for a cigar box guitar? It got a pickup? good to know you and your song.
