"Buck the Stars" is an acoustic music series that happens every Monday night at 8pm at the Squirrel Hill Starbucks (No. 2, 2345 Murray Ave., next to the BP) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This location is desirable because:
--it's in a neighborhood people will come to.
--there's a parking lot.
Lots of local folks play, plus some out-of-towners, too. They play for tips, love, and a free SB beverage, presumably venti (aka "sticking it to the man"). It's a low-stress gig.
The shows are vaguely organized by Pittsburgh singer-songwriter-person Brad Yoder.

puppies love saurav	Sep 13 2006 12:13 AM As the only person in the Friends list who hasn't performed at this event, I would be remiss if I did not share some insight. Buck the Stars rocks, both literally and metaphorically. It was (and occasionally still is) my introduction into the Pittsburgh acoustic music scene. The performers are all quite talented and terribly approachable. The venue has plenty of seating, and surprisingly great acoustics, with the violently red-and-yellow wall providing a nice visual contrast to the acts. The "scene", as it were, is very friendly, with fans, artists, and strangers making up an eclectic crowd. Save the money you would have spent on some mediocre concerts elsewhere (and tip these great musicians instead!), and head down to Murray Avenue Monday nights. I'll see you there (I'll be the bemused knitter).
