The Buckthorn Music Press catalog (ASCAP/MPA) features new classical, electronica, music for stage and screen, and more -- all designed, written, engraved, conducted, synthesized, engineered, sonically rendered, recorded, promoted, and more! by Lynn Job, our owner and founding artist. Independent musicians are brought on board to assist studio recordings and some collaborative work takes place with commissioning performers and partners. 風格近似
All fine art genres and styles (all instrumentation) - she has 3 earned academic degrees in music composition and started writing professionally in 1977. Her works are programmatic, often accompanied with original poetry or quotations from ancient wisdom texts. She writes her own text and lyrics whenever possible. Today she works with professional-level & collegiate concert/recital performance settings and top-ranked solo recording artist projects. She prefers to accept serious music commissions which allow her to simultaneously entertain general audiences, Church and Synagogue, and music scholars alike. She has a rich and distinctive style with unique melodicism that propels the music forward in continual variation - in perfect balance and pace. Her solo pieces have brought her the most praise, with a grammar and phrasing akin to grand soliloquy. Not without whimsy and romance in almost any work, her music can be very deep with attention to symbolism, layering & classic design methods.
With her strong lyricism and dramatic flare, she is also successful in musical theatre, light and dramatic opera, and song forms. Conductors love her detailed documentation, performers love her sensitivity to their technical needs, and audiences love that the works are beautifully thoughtful, heart-felt, and elevating, high art experiences worth hearing many times - not compromising toward any artificial market niche.
