Bud Bash is a Houghton Lake party that happens every year in August. We are in no way promoting paying the bar ($20+) to be on their property. The party is NOT in the bar it's on the water. NO COVER THERE! The party we are talking about takes place in the water in front of a bar. You do not need a boat to attend this party. A swim suit and a 6-pack will do just fine. This party is reckless and fun. You can walk across M55 from Houghton Lake High school parking lot down a road end and into the water. Don't walk on private property. Do NOT open beers before you get into the water. Do NOT pee on school grounds. The state police are looking to ticket everyone. So be smart. The party happens in knee deep water where all the boats are tied up. There will be people wasted before noon. A must see event! We do not condone the pollution of any public land or lakes. Please pick-up after your self.

SAFETY TIPS:
WATER SHOES. They may look silly but when you have a cut on the bottom of your foot the day is ruined. Stay away from the back of boats. That is where sharp out drives are. Most boats are anchored in place. There are sharp objects out there, trust me. The local home owners next to the bar do not like the party. They only own their property not the lake. Stay off private property. Spicer's showroom across M55 has bathrooms but don't buy any of their over priced boat junk. Spicer supports local law enforcement (MSP who are trying to end the party) with water crafts, property and a dock to operate from during Bud Bash. Using spicer's bathroom will save you from paying the Bar $20+ cover.

The reason Jobbie Nooner won't reach Bud Bash levels of craziness is because Bud Bash has walk it party people. Jobbie nooner requires a boat because it takes place on an island. People with boats have $$ + there a little older. Bud Bash is younger and crazier crowd. You should try to see the party this year. Parties this good could end quickly.
