Buddha Witha Gun started in 2000, with Matty "The Roach" Keebler on drums. A brief period in 2002 saw Father Sean O'Darby take over the drum role, until Keebler returned.
In April of 2007, the band released their full-length debut, "La Cima De La Montana" at a CD release party at Flagstaff Brewing Company. Matty Keebler was never seen again after that evening.
Now, over a year later, Buddha Witha Gun has secured the services of guitarist/computer wizard/political firebrand Olaf Rotkohl, and drummer Ganz Tollhaus. (Punk legend Brent Turner has been made official mascot and pot pie chef). With renewed vigor, the band is working on its sophmore album, tentatively titled "This Ain't No Vegan Bake Sale," and gearing up for the World's Smallest Southwest United States Tour.
BWG would like to thank Joel at Homebrew Electronics of Phoenix, AZ for all of his help, and Penguin Mints for the bitchin' tube socks and mountains of caffeinated mints.
This Saturday night we are throwing a Halloween Party at the Orpheum with Yin Yang and Zen Some. Sedona superfreaks Yin Yang and Zen Some know how to throw a party. Its actually impossible to convince them not to dress up in costumes during the 364 days of the year that are not Halloween. That's why we thought that they would be a particularly appropriate band to play Halloween. YYZS plays a an eclectic mix of music, focusing on 80s songs that don't suck (think New Wave, Talking Heads, etc...). So put on your freakiest outfit and come down to the Orpheum to dance. Bwahahahahaha!
