Spread the love like peanut butter and post our banner.
Most people make flyers to promote shows. I like to make post-show flyers to show you what you missed. Here are a few:
April 29, March 24, and our very first show on Feb 10. Some great photos on our blog, and also over here.
About BUDWEEZER
Rivers/Patrick first heard Weezer's "Sweater Song" in 1994, when everyone else did. He thought Weezer was a stupid, no talent one-hit wonder. He then heard "Buddy Holly." He still thought Weezer was maybe a two-hit wonder. Then he heard "Say It Ain't So" and started to give Weezer a little more credit. He bought Weezer's Blue album (probably the 5th or 6th CD he ever purchased) and gave it a spin. It stayed in his CD player for the next year straight.
Then came Pinkerton in late 1996. For some reason, this was considered a "flop." As far as sophmore albums go, Patrick is unaware of a better offering ever done by anyone. He bought Pinkerton the day it came out from Wal-mart back when Wal-mart was still cool (Wait, it was never cool? Oh. Well that is where he got it!) and listened to that album for the next year straight.
After going dark for several years after the disappointment (what!?) of Pinkerton, Weezer has a strong resurgence and puts out a whirlwind of new releases -- Weezer Green Album, Maladroit, and tons of awesome B-sides on Weezer.net. Weezer does a great job of selling records, getting gobs of new fans, and putting on big arena tours.
In May 2004, Rivers/Patrick's new band Nigel plays "My Name is Jonas" during their first concert. Brian/Bryan of BrotherLush, who was on the bill with Nigel, mentions that he loves Weezer and would love to do a Weezer cover band sometime. Rivers/Patrick replies, "Hell yeah! That would be a dream come true!"
Flash ahead to October 2005, Rivers/Patrick, Bryan/Brian, and Pat/Rich reconnect and decide it's finally time to really do the Weezer cover band. Nigel and BrotherLush rock the Last Exit in Tempe as Nigel and BrotherLush. But then form together (along with Pete from Nigel) to become "In the Garage." The set was incredible. Rave reviews from the New York Times and such. After the show, Chris from Let Go expresses interest in being the future Matt Sharp. He gets the job.
Cut to now, and you get BUDWEEZER. Arizona's very own and ONLY Weezer Tribute Band!
