Since the age of 11 years old Demetrius "Shay" Robinson had been displaying his love for music and mixing. This love has undoubtedly assisted in his developing as one of the hottest producers in New York State. In 2002 music from "DJ Shay's Unsigned City Vol. II" was featured in the independent film "Chatroom," which was distributed by Artisan Home Entertainment. Buff City Records has just released "DJ Shay's Unsigned City Volume III", IN STORES NOW!!!. The album is a well put together combination of Hip-Hop, R&B, and Neo-Soul songs from some of the hottest underground talents in the recording industry.
The first single "Sippin Hennessy," off the album performed by Buff City Records artists Street Entertainment, will definitely be a club classic for the upcoming summer. With its laid back mellow beat, chopped and screwed hook, and lyrics that ride the entire track, its sure to soon be in heavy rotation. The track is receiving a warm reception in the southeast, getting spins on WIBB FM 97.9 in Macon, Georgia, some college radio stations, and beginning to heat up in clubs north and south. The next single, "Melody" featuring Melec is performed by Stori James, who has recently worked with M1 of Dead Prez and some other industry notables, she brings across a Neo-Soul flavor with a combination of old school hip-hop and reggaeton.. Featured R&B artist JohnAl with his soulful voice, gives it that complete urban soundtrack appeal, and possibly creates the next dance craze with the song "Two Step."
Unsigned City Vol. III is sure to be an independent album that will build a huge following, and could possibly top the charts.
