Elizabeth (aka Buffy) was cursed and blessed with a few keys: the ability to leave the ground on a regular basis (or to sink into it), a beating heart poorly disguised as a body, and a temper hidden beneath a jovial smile. She feels her ancestors' blood in her body, she is a warrior by nature. She is looking for a home that doesn't exist and will fight unendingly for her love. Kindness is not weakness. It is the best sort of bravery.
She met Bruno and soon declared revolution together. Bruno is a rock star from Brazil where he primarily learnt the best rhythms on his pandero and berimbau from old pros on the streets and beaches, before discovering the cavaquino and guitar and ROCK. He invents sounds you've never heard, except in your dreams. That's why they sound familiar. He's a warrior too, from the forests and the high rise.

He eyed me rather suspiciously and then asked what was truly on his mind.
