Buffy the Animated Series was an undeveloped animated TV show based on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Initially greenlit by 20th Century Fox in 2002, it went ultimately unproduced and unaired when no network was willing to buy the series.
On August 1, 2008, the four minute unaired presentation was leaked online via YouTube.
Since then, a petition has been created by the community at slayalive.com (http://www.thepetitionsite.com/1/slayalive-we-want-buffyanimated) Jeph Loeb, who was to be executive producer, and Nicholas Brendon, who interpreted Xander in Buffy the vampire slayer, have since supported the campaign to resuscitate the show.
