Das Szenario ist an jedem Sommerabend gleich: die Sonne verschwindet und der Grill kühlt ab – aber das Brutzeln geht dann erst richtig los. Es ist die Zeit der „bug fryer“, die Insekten anlocken und sie mit Sirr-Brrz-Geräuschen in verkokelte Häufchen verwandeln.
Dann rauchen die Mottenköpfe, schmelzen die Spinnenleiber und implodieren die Facettenaugen im Staccato. Komisch nur, dass es niemals aufhört. Jeden Tag funkt und blitzt es in jedem „bugfryer“ dieser Welt aufs Neue. Spielt die Insektenbrut etwa ein falsches Spiel mit uns? Ab sofort ist das egal – denn bugfryer aus Berlin spielen zurück.
Bastian, Heilemann und Möter brutzeln ihre Meltmusic – eine Melange aus Indierock, Power-Pop und Punk – mitten hinein in diese vielbeinige Welt. Seit weit über 15 Jahren sind Bastian und Heilmann mit so illustren Bands wie „S.T.A.U.B.“, „Red Moon“, „Mad Hatter“ und „Trisomy“ unterwegs und veröffentlichten diverse Aufnahmen.
In neuer Besetzung, mit neuem Namen und neuem Feindbild führen sie nun mit bugfryer noch nicht die Indierock-Charts an, dafür aber längst die Most-Wanted-Listen des Syndikats der Kerbtiere. Aber der Kampf gegen geschätzte 529.000.000.000.000 war noch nie weniger aussichtslos...

The scenario is the same on every summer evening: the sun disappears and the grill cools down – but that’s when things really start sizzling. It’s the time of the “bug fryer,” luring insects, only to transform them into small charred heaps accompanied by sirr-brrz sounds.
It’s a time when moth heads smoke, spider bodies melt and compound eyes implode in staccato. It’s weird, though, that it never stops. Every day sparks and flashes in all the “bug fryers” of this world begin anew. Are the larvae not playing straight with us? It doesn’t matter anymore, effective immediately – because bugfryer from Berlin are playing back.
Bastian, Heilemann and Möter fry their melt music – a blend of indie rock, power pop and punk – right in the midst of this many-legged world. For more than 15 years Bastian and Heilmann have been underway with illustrious bands such as “S.T.A.U.B.”, “Red Moon,” “Mad Hatter” and “Trisomy” and have released diverse recordings.
In a new lineup, with a new name and a new concept of the enemy, bugfryer may not yet be at the top of the indie rock charts, but it’s been on the insect syndicate’s Most Wanted lists for quite some time. Never before has the fight against an estimated 529,000,000,000,000 seemed less hopeless...
Following a first demo in 2007, the debut mini-LP “Cock Chafer Grub” appeared in summer 2009. Larvae will become butterflies and you can be part of it!
