Interview and "I Change" Video By Brooklyn Rocks Blog
"New Words" Video By Jen Herzog of Found Avenue Productions
Bugs in the Dark is a 2 girl / 1 guy dual-vocal art rock trio out of Brooklyn, NYC, inspired by bands like Sonic Youth, The Pixies, Sleater Kinney and Blonde Redhead. One hell of a live show!
PRESS REVIEWS:
"The future of New York City music." - Deli Magazine
" . . . a band making some SERIOUS noise with obvious potential. Brooklyn’s Bugs in the Dark have no time for sleepy-eyed, middle of the road, groan along, pseudo-rock anthems - they’re too busy delivering ferocious, sweaty punk, fueled by sledgehammer drums and mean dueling guitars...Highly Recommended for fans of classic power-punk trios such as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Sleater Kinney." - Fiddle While You Burn
"Bugs in the Dark are doing their best to fill the void left by Sleater Kinney and the Pixies. Surprisingly, they're doing a bang-up job." - L Magazine, Mark Asch
"Cancel everything and go see their next show." - Indie Sounds NY, Pete Harris
"Still lamenting the loss of indie rock band Sleater-Kinney? Try Brooklyn band Bugs in the Dark, a similarly inspired punk trio." - Chicago Mag.com
"They just ripped up the stage and got the crowd rockin' and screaming for more." - Local Music Now, Bob McKee
"Please, for your own good--check out Bugs in the Dark from Brooklyn, whose EP was one of the best things I've heard all year" - Blogspot.com, Awnawhellnaw

i am ditching my mom and sister (who are visiting) just to check out this gig. i will be there. and i can't wait to see you bring the rock and the fury. just sayin.
let me just say, once more, you were fantastic at cakeshop! let's do it again sometime, later and drunker and without the food poisoning/flu on our part. loving the EP, esp. I Change and New Words. xo rebecca roulette/ New York Times
Well....you guys didn't dissapoint, as i gushed already to you at the show. You play a DOPE live show....look forward to doing any kind of show with you again. I had a lot of fun....thanks.
hello friends! we will also be rocking a show on feb. 9th. may the force of rock bring us together to create harmony... or something or, other. our hearts are with you! love and miss you all, nico
there's a great story about when the replacements had an industry showcase... i think it was at cb's in the mid eighties... the band got so drunk before they went on that the set devolved into unrehearsed covers. A defiant Paul Westerberg was heard from the stage after the last song, "so do we get a record contract yet?"... i assume that friday night went something like that. mt
