Hyperlinks
A link from one web page to another (links can also point to another location on the same page)
Hyperlinks
Are codes embedded in text or an image that initiate connections. If they are text-based links (hypertext), they are usually underlined and highlighted. When you select the hypertext (generally by clicking on it with a mouse), it will initiate a connection to another location and display that information. This "other information" may be another Web page at the same site, a sound or video clip, or a connection to Web sites located elsewhere on the Internet. Hyperlinks may also take the form of hypermedia, such as a graphic or icon.
You can use any picture as a Background Picture. You can use either the Picture Name or the full Website Address
So you can either use http://hale.xoompages.com/LucyAlexander.png or LucyAlexander.png to display the background picture
But to use just the picture name then the picture must be saved in the same folder as the page that it is displayed on
But if it is not then you must either use the full Website Address or ../LucyAlexander.png because ../ tells the web browser to look back a folder so if the picture was stored in a folder called pictures then you'd either use pictures/LucyAlexander.png (if the page is stored in the same location as the pictures folder) or ../pictures/LucyAlexander.png (if the page is stored in it's own separate folder and the pictures folder is stored in the main web folder not in the page's folder)
To find out which background pictures and text colours look perfect for your website then please copy all the text in the following box to any word processing program such as Windows Notepad
Now save it as test.html and without closing the original file open it in an Internet window and view the results
Now go back to the original text and change the picture name/web address within quotes ("") for the name or web address or the picture you'd like to use.
Make sure you keep the quotes and then save it again
If you like the picture then you can just change the text colour using the colour names on this page X11 Color Chart until you find a suitable colour that will display properly on top of your chosen background picture
Now go back to the Internet page and press the F5 button to refresh the page and the new colours/pictures will appear
Keep doing that until you find the combination that pleases you
The same rule can be applied to images that are displayed on screen
So copy and paste the following line into the previous test file that you created
Now play around to see which pictures look good on screen following the instructions above
