Building James is an original indie rock/power pop band from southern NH. Their sound relies heavily on catchy hooks, vocal harmonies, and raw energy. Building James has been influenced by a variety of bands and genres from the Dandy Warhols to Green Day to the Old 97's.

Building James was originally formed in 2005 as an acoustic act featuring Dan Buckner on guitar and Ben Belcourt on percussion. Focusing on original power pop tunes Building James played the southern New Hampshire open mic circuit including a year and a half stint hosting the open mic at Milly's Tavern in Manchester, NH. In 2008 guitarist Andrew Watson joined and the sound was transformed from acoustic power pop to fully electric indie rock. After a debut performance at the 2008 Nashua Folk Festival Building James set out to find a bass player to help fill out the sound. Joe Amico joined up in the fall of 2008 and dropped a bomb on the band's sound. The full line up was complete.

In early 2009 Building James kicked into full gear playing venues across southern NH and northern MA. They also released a well received new demo in March of 2009. The song "Still Around" was featured on the "Local Licks" segment on Portsmouth, NH radio station WHEB 100.3 FM on June 2nd. Building James continues to spread their brand of catchy power pop and indie rock across southern NH and northern MA.
