Richy and Dorsey toured with Unalaska, Matt toured with Monster Squad. This is the new project from 3 friends who like to bring the rock
Build Us Airplanes reeks of honesty. Lacking any sign of pretentiousness B.U.A. spins catchy indie rock with punk rock accessibility. The trio is made up of hardworking, Bay Area, punk/indie kids that decided they wanted some melody with their angst. Since there inception in early 2008 they've already cranked our 2 solid releases. Their latest being Leon EP, which is made up of 7 well crafted gems that are served best with booze. They're not necessarily looking to change the face of rock and roll but they're clearly doing their own thing in way that any eclectic music fan will appreciate.
"I thoroughly enjoy this band. They honestly have solid gimmick free music with great lyrics. Songs like “goodbye, goodnight” and “The Blushing Bride” are phenomenal in my opinion.
With this resurgence of rawer sounding indie bands I figured they’d have blown up now. I highly suggest you listen to this band if you’re looking for a new jam because these guys don’t disappoint and if you’re in the BAY AREA… GO TO A FUCKIN SHOW THEY PLAY GILMAN ON THE REGULAR. For fans of TIGERS JAW, HIGHTIDE HOTEL, CASTEVET, MY HEART TO JOY, polar bear club, young generals, and faster/slower/harder/softer indie punk."

"Grunge and Indie make a baby.
Ex-Monster Squad member Matt Kadi and Ex-Unalaska members Richy Russell and Dorsey Thompson make up this band, hidden in the shadows. Their grunge-indie hybrid tunes make their sound original, something a little different from the norm.
Star track "Releasing Hands", has a catchy desperation that can be felt in Russell's vocals, which is slightly reminiscent of Jawbreaker's Blake Schwarzenbach at times."
