Ben wants to sound like screeching baby death;
Chris wants to sound like John Bonham;
Keith wants screaming ladies having sex;
Stewart looks like Jessica Alba and sounds like Prince.
All members are responsible for the parts they play.
Influences
Ben likes Slint and Don Caballero. Chris says 'Now Here is Nowhere' by Secret Machines is one of his favourite albums. Keith enjoys The Jesus Lizard, carrot cake and ladies' breasts. Stewart listens to Prince and Ornette Coleman, and owns at least one tie-dye T-shirt.
Sounds Like
Psuedo-jazz post-hardcore, like a rimjob from a wizard.
Awkward charm offensive - punctate this however you like.
"Bulk & Skull, formally an awkward post-pub-rock Slint tribute band, were utterly shocking, and ruined the festive fun. Dressed as 1990's WWF wrestlers, their 25 minute version of Julie Andrews' My Favourite Things would have been bad enough, but their onstage banter involving nipples, homosexuality and hairiness took awkwardness to its literal conclusion. Their guitarist is SERIOUSLY metal though."

This will be the only Dartz gig anywhere until Easter 2009, so don't miss out! It'll also be their first gig in Newcastle as a four piece and what with it being Christmas, they'll be giving away a few presents, 'cause they're nice like that.
Support comes from Ever Since The Lake Caught Fire, fresh from their tour of Poland, and Hartlepool superstars Ankles, who are a bit like The Shins, but lower.
This takes place this Thursday! See you there? d.x.
Distraction presents Kania Tieffer, a otter-fixated Chick On Speed cacking out pleasantly disturbed lo-fi fake nonsense r'n'b and vitriolic electropop with cheap children's keyboards, a battered old computer and an electric guitar, in an unmissable live show. Support comes from sample stealing, tune pinching, melody wrecking a-moral wrong-uns and kings of nostalgia-core Radgepackets, and pointlessly hostile bootmash-noisewhore-wrongtronica idiot Dressed In Wires! Cor!
Only 4 quid in, kick-off at 8pm, find out more here!
Hey there folks - just a reminder that the Ladybird show is coming up tomorrow at The End, on Scotswood Road. Unfortunately My First Tooth have been felled by a virus but we're replacing them with the gorgeous Dot To Dots so all's well in the state of Denmark. Whatever that means.
As a little taster, here's a video clip of Ladybird playing an impromptu set onboard Camp '08 at Low Hum.

Black Affair is Steve Mason (erstwhile betaband frontman). The music he performs and mixes reeks of old school R ‘n’ B, electro, early hip-hop, Chicago house, Detroit techno, even the synth-pop of Kraftwerk, Yazoo, The Human League, Depeche Mode, Soft Cell and New Order.

mushi mushi's machine-gun electronic sound avoids any categorisation, but we'll try anyway: they are the missing link between Client and Devo, between Fugazi and the Chemical Brothers, between Man Or Astroman? and Add N to (X). It really shouldn't work but it does. go figure!!
Hi lads, really sorry couldn't make it down for the gig (over did it a bit over the distraction weekend and now badly skinted). How'd it go (some kind of empirical scale or interpretation of success through song/dance should do nicely)?
