bulletproof charm is currently one person...andrew geonetta. a move to austin, tx. brought the cincinnati quartet to an end with hopes to start something new under the same moniker.
combining signature melodic vocals over the backdrop of thick, spacey guitars and an intricately pulsing rhythm section, bulletproof charm manages to fuse several rock-influenced genres together into a tasteful dish of new music.
bulletproof charm caught the attention of the midwestern press and the respect of the music community in general. the arrangements were derived from geonetta's solo act and described as "haunting and dark", "painfully melodic" and "inspired". stylistic elements from multiple genres of rock melded with dashes of songwriter, blues and jazz influences, "...stir up a tasty fusion of melodies, meticulously constructed to make even the harshest drum line feel like cotton in your ears." (katherine sontag, citybeat). add to that geonetta's unique, multi-ranged vocals, and "[bulletproof charm] shows have all the ingredients necessary to...leave listeners wondering what hit them."(katherine sontag, citybeat).
the debut bulletproof charm CD, entitled 'reverse engineer', has been released and is now ready for purchase!
Happy Holidays to you all from everyone here at Chicks Rockfest! Don't forget to rock in 2007 and support your local artists and the venues that support them!
Special thanks to the wonderful and sexy Eric Chapman of Twilight Arts for taking our pictures. Check out his band Crooked Rook as well for some more chick rockin' action.
Thanks to the marvelous, talented and beautiful Angie Doyle for posing for our pictures.
Thank you to Dale Johnson of Opaque Photos and I See Sound for, as always, helping out the graphically challenged (yeah, that would be me).
if you watch to the very end, the VERY LAST few minutes of this show, this artist named Sarah Hudson is singing a song where the chorus is "I KNOW THAT YOU KNOW, I KNOW". Our Amelia High friends will remember a SWEET band named SUDDEN IMAGE that had a "hit" song called "I KNOW THAT YOU KNOW THAT I KNOW". Wow, it was really weird to hear her sing those lyrics
hey! its me hillary robin's daughter. so hows the "band" going? you don't comment me much. well no one really comments me much anyway. well i thought i'd say hi since i'm saying hi to everyone else on my friends list. keep me posted on wut ur up to!
i less than 3 ya! <3 ya!
This show is really important to us! It will be the last time we get to play in Cincinnati until near Christmas, so come out and have a good time with us!
hey!! yea robin is my mom and she is dating jim. he lets me mess with his bass. suposedly i have "potential" on playing bass guitar. sorry about the band not being together long.
It sucks that your show was rained out, but I'm sure there will be plenty more BPC to be seen. Maybe Texas has been waiting for ya'll this whole time and you just didn't know it. At least we still have myspace and reverse engineer to cut down on the withdrawal... never know... maybe someone in Cinci will form a BPC cover band!
