With its origins dating back to the spring of 2003, Bulls of Madrid began as, a cover band, formed from a high school mateship and love of music.
With countless Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Rage Against The Machine tracks to their repertoire, their musical competencies soon lead the creation of original writings.
The search for a sound started in a Rossmore lounge room, where a definite vibe of classic hard rock was orchestrated within a six-hour jam session.
With the primary song writing undertaken by Hayes, the band entered a host of local band competitions, reaching the grand final of Macarthur Clash and the semi-finals of Liverpool Idol, with a mix of original, and cover, material.
Over the next two years on, Bulls of Madrid endeavoured to expand their sound as the band's technical competencies gained strength.
With influences ranging from the Mars Volta, Muse all the way to Jimi Hendrix and jazz legend Miles Davis; Bulls of Madrid began to fuse jazz and heavy psychedelic rock to create a unique concoction that engaged a more mature audience.
This eclectic blend of manic guitar licks, throbbing bass lines, and rampant, yet epic, drum stylings, converged to produce an explosive backing for Keys’ powerful vocal melodies.
This style proved to be an impressive mix of sounds. Bulls Of Madrid became more acknowledged in the music scene and went on to win band competitions, even making it to the prestigious National Campus Competition State finals.
With the creative door now open even further, it is evident that Bulls of Madrid is striving for an even more unique musical fusion in the future. Ambient exchanges now becoming a common feature of their live performances.
This new sound serves as proof that Bulls of Madrid are one Sydney band that can boast a creation of something genuinely new.
