Bullstrode Whitelocke and the Vexatious Litigants formed when famous Australian barrister, politician and philanthropist Bullstrode Whitelocke KC awarded a grant to four friends from UNSW Law School in Sydney who had decided to form a band to make music to celebrate their love of the common law.
With an acclaimed DJ/Producer, two MC's and a cellist the Vexatious Litigants started off in the garage but quickly moved on to playing gigs around Sydney, Wollongong and Bathurst.
With acerbic lyrics directed towards the substantive inequalities present in Australian politics and legal institutions, the Vexatious Litigants are a refrain to the 60's and 70's tradition of musical veracity and activism.
This seminal band/legal-posse have been described by Chester Porter QC as "A wonderful tribute to the golden thread of the common law".

The 'volenti non fit injuria' line gets me everytime, but I have another verse for you. Actually I have a few because all of us law kids (at Deakin uni in Melb) started writing more lyrics. Here is one verse that I did myself, hope you like it! And thanks for making learning fun. If you are still doing Law, best of luck for exams and can you do a song on Misleading Conduct and Eco Torts? I am struggling a bit. Ha ha. Hopefully I will see you in Melb. :)
