Bumper Crop was formed in March of 2007 the mission is the music and the guys have been working hard for well over two years now making it happen. The music of Bumper Crop is a blend of genres, some songs having a reggae sound while others may have a touch of ska mixed in with an acoustic feel. Attempting do be a voice of reason through his lyrics front man Craig Smith sings of peace, unity, and tells stories of life through his words. Joe Hale a Davenport native is on the drums, a very exciting player to watch and solid on the beat. Adam Smith(no relation to Craig) is on Turtables and Samples bringing a urban feel to the group echoing the likenesses of Incubus and other hip-hop/rock bands, making BC the only Quad City band with a DJ. On Bass Guitar Dustin Roelle lays it down thick with a west coast style that cannot be bought. Bumper Crop songs have a feel good sound that makes you long for the sun, the sand, and the waves. The love of music and performing for the people is what drives this young band to continue with their progress. All members call Davenport, IA their hometown but this is not the only common thread among the guys. The love of reggae and rock music of all kinds has brought the group together on material. Each individual style helps form the one sound you hear from this group. With the 2007 release “Goin’ To War” they solidified their songwriting ability. Since the release the guys have been working hard to continue a tour schedule while adding original songs to their repituare. Most songs expressing an enlightened up beat feel, while songs like “Sucker Punch” are obvious reference to disdain felt over past experiences. Every song redefines the band and keeps the fans guessing. Expect an album release by the end of summer in coordination with the group’s appearance at the Quad Cities biggest music festival River Roots Live. Slotted to hit the main band shell stage on opening day of the event, Bumper Crop is joining the ranks of many great bands to grace the stage at the LeClaire Park on the banks of the Mississippi. On their way to being voted best reggae/rock band in the Quad Cities and beyond, don’t miss a chance to experience the explosive music of Bumper Crop. Visit the bands myspace page often as possible to receive tour updates and other news of their progress. Look for good things to come as the community rallies behind these good old homegrown boys that call themselves Bumper Crop. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. ....
