BUMTUCK were formed in Hobart, mid 1996 by HOYTER (on Drums), GLENROHAN (on Bass/Vocals) and ASH (on Guitar) to play some tunes like nobody was playing around Hobart at the time. Hoyter and Glenrohan wrote a few tunes and we started jamming. After quite a few months we were roughly recorded by a friend (Pete Lickis) with a simple walkman on analog cassette, through the wall. So the recorder was actually in the toilet of Glenrohans old house in West Moonah. We aptly nick named the tape "THE SHITHOUSE TAPE" and may put something online off it eventually........ We played our first gig with DULCINEA at the BRISBANE HOTEL on Saturday 9th August 1997 to a good response from the small crowd. After jamming for a few more months Ash's work schedule slowed us down and eventually lead to his leaving the band. Hoyter and Glenrohan knowing they were onto something put all things BUMTUCK on a shelf and went their own ways on various musically for a while. In 2005 Glenrohan started jamming the BUMTUCK material with UNCLE GUIDO (on Drums) before contacting Hoyter and getting BUMTUCK up and running again. We jammed altogether in late 2005 and agreed to make a go of it. Lucky enough Uncle Guido recorded the jam and we used it as the basic tracks for "PEACE TO THE WORLD........OR ELSE!" which we threw a few copies of out at our second gig. TEAR IT UP @ THE D.E.C on Friday 19th May 2006. It was a filth gig thanks to all who came! We've played a heap of gigs since the D.E.C gig with all sorts of different bands like Pisschrist (VIC), M.S.I, The Half Pints (VIC), Woof Woof, Bastard Squad (VIC), Sonic Porno (QLD), Halfmast, Rankwaste (VIC), Rule 33 (SA), Your Demise, The Superkunts, Solar Thorn, The Infected, Incarcerate, The Ghost and The Storm Outside, Traitor, The Ubernaughties, Blood Kandi, Jacks Agenda and Grrr just to name a few. With the highlights being supporting Pisschrist twice, the Pure Punk gigs and the Helloween Havoc shows. At HH06 we had our set recorded (Thanx James T) and made it a 12 Track Live CD called "Here Comes BumTucK Without An F" Our first DVD (Dodgy DvD) and a multiple demos CD (Ruff Demos) soon followed in 2008. Then after that we will start our first tour with Floating Roach (VIC) and Rankwaste (VIC) starting at The Brissie on June 27, then Launies Saloon Bar on June 28. The tour will continue in July heading to the Victoria for an invasion to mess with your fragile little minds... NEW LITTLE TUCKERS! BumTucK has added two new mini additions to the crew in the past five weeks. Glenrohan and his partner had a beautiful little girl named Lilyahna on the 12th of March. and even more recently Hoyter and his partner also had a sweet little girl named Caitlin on the 14th of April. We will be doing 2 shows with Victorias Bastard Squad in Tassie late this year and also with Driverside Airbag early next year, so stay posted . . .
