Who I'd like to meet:

Well, I've already met James Brown. We had an intense dialogue one evening at the Blue Room in New Orleans. I witnessed Jimi Hendrix burning his guitar in Tad Gormley Stadium and the Sex Pistols assaulting eardrums at a strip mall bar in Baton Rouge. And then there was Bob Marley (his backyard in Kingston) and Lydia Lunch (posing for photographs smoking a cigarette, despite that the fact that she didn't normally smoke...I rewarded her with a rhinestone bracelet) and Elvis Costello (we discussed the virtues of Howard Tate) and Dita Von Teese (wrapping her thighs around my head as part of her act) and Earl King (composer of "Come On, Pts. One & Two") and Bobby "Blue" Bland (clad in a monogrammed bathrobe) and Mark E. Smith (sipping Champagne in the 13th Ward and cackling at the ferocity of a semi-hurricane raging outside) and Marilyn Chambers (blushing--that's right! blushing!--during our interview) and Professor Longhair (I got to ride shotgun in his Cadillac when we drove from New Orleans to Baton Rouge for a rendezvous with Dr. John) and Brenda Lee (we analyzed hot dogs--she likes hers plain, with no chili or mustard) and Mrs. Chris Kenner (shortly after serving time in a Louisiana women's prison; she was convicted of fatally stabbing her abusive boyfriend with a pocketknife) and Art Neville (offering hogshead cheese and raw oysters in his kitchen) and Aaron Neville (nicknaming me "Hatchetman") and Quintron and Miss Pussycat (he performed "cocktail music" at the opening of my "Art For Hetereosexuals" exhibition; she was my co-star in the epic film "North Pole Nutrias") and Dr. Seuss (we had lunch) and three-year-old Mariska Hargitay (the afternoon before her mother--Jayne Mansfield--died in a car accident) and Morgus the Magnificent and the likewise magnificent James Carroll Booker III...did I mention Dyan Cannon grazing my shoulder at a Bob Dylan concert in the Astrodome?
