The Distant Seas
I long to see the distant seas
And set foot on distant shores
And watch the sun caress the waves
With amber skies aglow
And watch the stars
Come out at night
Like fire flies in June
And string a blanket
Far and wide
And wrap around the moon

To all who have contacted us regarding the arrest of Roman Polanski: There is no point expressing your outrage to us ... you're preaching to the choir. You think Polanski went to Zurich by mistake? Come on! If you had to pick one country on the entire planet where money talks, where would you go? Switzerland, remember, is "neutral" ... they are equally willing to take money from anyone, whether it's drug cartels or Nazi-looted artworks. The whole thing feels very engineered to us, set up way in advance. They either have a side deal in place guaranteeing Polanski's return to France—the country which proudly housed that pile of toxic waste called Ira Einhorn, "heroically" protecting him from the "gross injustices" of the American criminal justice system—or there is already a deal in place for extradition. Then, a kindly judge could re-sentence Polanski ... taking into account his advanced age, being the child of Holocaust victims, the trauma of the Manson murders, and his "contribution to culture." Don't forget the "forgiveness" of the victim, probably pre-announced in an Oprah Magic Moment ... ah, the ratings! Result: poor tormented Roman does some Paris Hilton time, and gets a ticker-tape parade back where he "belongs." Maybe he can collaborate (his years in France should have made him highly skilled in that department) with Victor Salva on a movie that would finally surpass Lolita.

Skelepede is online now
they needed a warrant to go into his house is absurd. I think the
prostitution investigation is away to thwart public skepticism about
the Deparment's incompetence, and redirect the conversation in another
direction. Simply put the idea that these monsters should be released
from prison is the problem. Typically, those who commit crimes of
sexual violence only escalate as time goes on.
I dont think he could
win with an insanity defense--how insane was he-- he owned a house in
an expensive real estate market, he owned a business, and kept up a
public facade, but when it comes time to be held accountable for his
crimes, he's insane? Right. He also deliberately hid the children, and
the kidnapping victim from the world, and built a sound-proof shed. If we cant stop a predatory pedophile on parole from having prisoners
living in his house, what chance do we have of stopping the ones who
haven't been caught yet? We have to raise the stakes for those who
commit these crimes of sexual violence, or we'll all end up paying in
the end. Hopefully, this case will enrage people enough to do something about it.
I wonder if Phillip Garrido fits the prototype of the non-violent offenders that California is determined to release by the thousands to cut corners on the budge

Thanks for great advice. But I don't understand what you say about the "good" thing about being surrounded. I'll think on it a little more. The truth is the truth.
Your pal,
Jason

Pansy, I got my first rejection letter. Stings a little. Any advice for young writers?
