The burlesque Women’s Institute is a safe haven of happiness for lovers of all things burlesque. Lovingly hand crafted by Ruby Rose, our little forum is a place for discussions of all your inner desires for things shiny, pretty, fluffy and down right decadent.

Just lettin you guys know that on the 27th of Sept myself and Davey from sevendays... are launching a new club night called AntiKulture in the krazyhouse, liverpool! Itll be bands (angeldemon, the ladder and my own band sevendaysofnight) and then dj's playin all the very best industrial, ebm, goth, cyber etc etc plus much more! I hope that you can be part of it either by being there (tickets just £4 so let me know if u wanna meet up for some) or by showing some support on here by visiting www.myspace.com/antikultureliverpool and making any suggestions you have. obviously a lot of you wont be able to make it because of distance and timezone etc :P but feel free to come say hello anyway we wanna make this a special night and hopefully the first of many more to come! thankya guys jonny

DAVE BARKER & INTENSIFIED LIVE @ COAST TO COAST - SAT JUNE 20th THE LEGENDARY DAVE BARKER Dave Barker (born David Crooks, 1948, Franklyn Town, Kingston, Jamaica) is a reggae and rocksteady singer who has released a string of solo albums along with recordings as a member of The Techniques and as half of the duo Dave and Ansell Collins. Dave Barker and the fantastic the ska outfit Intensified will play live at Coast to Coast to celebrate it's 10 Year anniversary. Dave Barker had hit singles with "Shocks of a Mighty" and "Spinning Wheel" (with melanie Jonas), followed in 1970 by his debut album Prisoner of Love. March 1971 brought international fame as part of a duo with Ansell Collins. "Double Barrel" was a number 1 hit in the United Kingdom, and was also the first recording on which drummer Sly Dunbar played."Double Barrel" was followed in June of the same year with a number 7 UK hit in the form of "Monkey Spanner". Its at O2 academy Liverpool with The Luchagors (featuring Amy Dumas/Lita of wrestling fame and the drummer from Dope and Wednesday 13). Also playing are Zuprowski Connection and the returning Ogun!
