About me:
With much anticipation, one of Canada’s up-and-coming music festivals is ready to cement its place on Canada’s musical scene. BURNFEST, a music festival geared towards youth and young adults (ages 14-25), will enter its 5th year and is banking on tremendous growth as seen in years past. Since launching in 2003, the festival has seen an exponential increase in numbers and is gearing up for its biggest year yet. Running August 1-4th, the festival will feature many well-known bands such as up-and-coming rock sensations and MTV-featured Rides Again (#1 on the EDGE Countdown in Toronto) and Warped Tour featured band KIROS, as well as After the Anthems (featured on MuchMusic). With many more great local bands (such as The Love Machine and Benefit of a Doubt) and an incredible atmosphere generated in the great outdoors, Burnfest 2008 promises to be a staple on Ottawa’s summer events calendar.
With tremendous buzz already being generated with the launch of the festival’s website (www.burnfest.ca), this year’s leadership team and staff are working around the clock to prepare the festival grounds located in Manotick, Ontario. Situated on a 150 acre farm in the great outdoors, this year’s festival combines various entertainment acts, powerful speaking, and camping into an event that is sure to be memorable. As stated by festival founder Caleb Davidson, “Burnfest is not just an event. It’s a platform to influence people with a positive message. It’s a platform that promotes people, music, life, and values.” Since its inception, Burnfest has used its large camping area, friendly staff, and ability to attract top-notch entertainment to leave its attendees counting down the days until the next year’s edition.
