THE BUM-CLOCKS TOUR DATES,more to follow
The inspiration for forming The Bum-Clocks was the discovery that Rabbie Burns and Iggy Pop were bosom buddies, snuffin and snowcketin thegither since Rabbie's first published poem 'The Twa Dogs: A Tale' where we quickly discover the dogs, or dugs are our aforementioned heroes - check it, it couldnae be clearer - " The first I'll name, they ca' him ( American ) Caesar, keepit for His Maister's Voice and pleesure, his hair, his size, his mooth, his lugs, show he is nane o' Scotland's dugs, but whalpet some place far away, fae Detroit City, A.A. Noo a want tae be your dug!"
And.."The tither wiz a plooman's collie, a rhymin, rantin, ravin Rabbie"
Our research has unearthed further Burns Pop collaborations about girls and manic depression which can be sampled here and although Iggy might not have supplied any lyrics to the classic 'Nine Inch Will Please A Lady' he was clearly who Rabbie had in mind as any photo o the Ig in the buff will testify ( or seek out his legendary see-through trooser tv appearance on The White Room )
So The Bum-Clocks are up and buzzin. These tracks were recorded on Burns Street, Leith, of course ( a thoosand thanks, king edward! ) and Tam, Rusty and Malc are in training for Burns's big 250th birthday bash on January 25 2009. As Andrew Innes of Primal Scream has said " That's some band, we better get f**kin practising! "
BUM-CLOCK, A humming beetle, that flies in the summer evenings.
