  • Bio

Burn Down the Charade is more than a name: it's a way of life. Just as the name states, Daniel Smith and Sean Herring strive to speak honest truths about life and connect with their listeners through the symbolic testimonies that are their songs. One or two word catch phrases can't begin to describe the tremendous sound that flows through these two like a strong current. If you take the attitude from the band "Manchester Orchestra" and marry it with the atmospherics of "Kid Cudi", then you still have a long way to go as far as determining the sound of Burn Down the Charade. These two indie rockers are plotting their own path while creating meaningful and inspirational music that connects with people of all ages and fans across a broad spectrum of genres. The sounds of Burn Down the Charade envelope their listeners into a world of their own and preach that being a part of something larger than oneself is not an obligation, but a choice and adventure that they are now living. Burn Down the Charade is dedicated to the successful appeal and approach that they initiated when the band started creating in early 2007. Dan and Sean speak to people's hearts by weaving the listener into any story or tale that they sing to life. The heavy emotions intertwine with the creative process and overwhelm people because, most can relate to the honesty and truth that these songs bleed. The duo's music seeps from one person to the next and spreads like wildfire as the truths that they speak are growing more prevalent every day. Dan and Sean continue down a path towards their own dreams knowing that the only thing that holds each person back from their dreams is themselves. With the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, "Revelations and Revolutions," in 2010, Dan and Sean created a platform for themselves to pursue their passion, playing shows all over the southwestern United States. The duo immediately set to writing their second album "Histories Of Things to Come," due to release September 22, 2012. The Duo has formed a more mature and sophisticated recording process which has lead to some innovate and futuristic songwriting. The titles speak for themselves and leave the imagination to wonder about the dynamic sounds and emotional stories. The two member band is exactly as it sounds, a two member band. While Sean has the voice and musical ability to meld the vibrant sounds together layer upon layer, Dan orchestrates and captures the tones and special moments that make up everyday life. Dedication is the key principle that drives Burn Down the Charade and according to the band, every day forward is another day to chase your hopes and dreams. Burn Down the Charade will continue to charge their demons and face their fears all while documenting all the life lessons and sounds they picked up along the way.

Burn Down The Charade..
Promote Your Page Too.. Music is an experience, a harmonious accord encompassing the entire body, each wave of sound rolling against our corporeal core as if we are accrual, floating atop the ocean. Burn Down the Charade, an indie space-rock double act from Phoenix, AZ is comprised of Sean Herring and Daniel Smith. Their sound is so rich, textured and thick it is nearly tactile. Fresh from the release of their first album Revelations & Revolutions, which represents three years of collaboration and growth. From their beginnings with the metal influenced guitar riffs and drilling drums melded with the heady, dream like choruses of No Road Home, phasing into the melodious intensity of the vocals in Believe What you Know Burn Down the Charade is a band marked by a maturation and resonance unlike any other ensemble. Their unique sound notwithstanding Burn Down the Charade represents a philosophy behind the music, a message, and reminder that music represents us all, that the songs and melodies are a part of our souls, that music is an auditory expression of our emotions. Along the journeys and tribulations of life, Sean and Daniel have captured the essence of the struggle, of loss in love of joy in companionship and triumph. The tunes challenge and coexist with the lyrics to create a web of synapses thickening the meanings and emotions behind the songs. As is typified in Will you Lead?, a haunting plea to those we love to embrace what is important in this world which ebbs against the sinuous resonance, and the nostalgia of Brilliant Kids a standard for the anti-hero who’s lyrics dance atop the marching melody. Though Burn Down the Charade has been making music for the past three years, it is in the release of their first album, in April 2010 that they have begun to promote their music. As they have moved through the creative process, they have maintained online following, choosing sites like myspace.com/burndownthecharade to promote and release their music. As of July 2010, they have been visited 600,000 times and are friends with nearly 100,000 people. Working in conjunction with Brian Herring they have recently released a viral four part video interview giving in-depth history and insight into the new album Revelations & Revolutions. Beyond the music and message of Burn Down the Charade are the creators, Sean Herring and Daniel Smith two childhood friends who throughout the distances, trials and tribulations have maintained not only a friendship but striking musical collaboration. What is most surprising is that the musicians themselves do the entire musical recording personally. From their humble beginnings in Daniel’s one bedroom apartment, nicknamed “The Cave,” Sean and Daniel maintain total creative control and are the sole influences and creators of their sound. It is then unsurprising that Burn Down the Charade represents such a unique and personal sound that continues to grow and mature as its creators do. Members:.. Dan and Sean
