Burning Annie's Interests
Music
The Randies, Get Set Go, The Mormons, Pillow of Wrongness, The Dollyrots, New MaximumDonkey, Bent Blue, Self, Subhybrid Fields, Joshe Henry, the Chubb Sessions Band, Dean Harada, A Place of Solace, Ben Jaffe, and Bang Sugar Bang... (plus, Louden Swain, Underwater City People, the Electrolites, Yes Dear, Gertie Fox, the Power Cords, and Midway! :-)
It all sounds precious, but somehow it doesn't play that way. Burning Annie is a thoroughly professional comedy, well paced, attractively photographed and smartly acted.
This anxiously auspicious debut is a pomo romcom for iPodpeople, a bittersweet riff on the displacement of feeling. The exceptionally canny script nails how thoroughly pop culture has colonized our sentiments. Immensely appealing performances.

"Strikes so close to home that it's impossible
to think about it in any sort of detached sense.
Succeeds in conjuring the tone and spirit
of 'Annie Hall'-- a remarkable thing, indeed.
BURNING ANNIE MAY BE THE BEST MOVIE
I'VE SEEN THIS YEAR."
- Entertainment Today
"Clearly a labor of love.
The best romantic comedy I've
seen in years. A GREAT FILM."
- MSNBC
"At once touching and funny, but
never cloying or cute-- credit
the deft writing and camera work.
Add an excellent score and
THIS LITTLE FILM COMES UP BIG."
- E. Hampton Independent
"Likable-- tons of 'tude!
SMART-ASS PUNS, WITTY REPARTEE,
sardonic asides, and
SHARP SOCIAL OBSERVATIONS.
Kim Murphy is luminous."
- Daily Variety
"A hilarious homage to Woody Allen.
Lundy has a wiseass, nerdy charisma
and Downing matches him in
smarts and screen presence.
The wisecracking amorous trio could
carry a Hollywood movie..."
- Providence Phoenix
"Compelling... Captures the college experience very well.
Character interactions provide
a host of memorable scenes...
A wonderful film. Recommended."
- The Numbers
"Relentlessly funny from fade to fade,
without a false note between...
Humor that is rooted in honesty.
A riotous, whip-smart film."

finally the 100th person said to me today "oh so it is about a guy who burns a girl named annie?" and i said "yes, yes it is." i think you should just present it as a snuff film.
Ok. I finally watched it. Hollywood Video had it. Um. Wow. Yeah. I can see dramatic license in play. However, Gibson & Kircherr's dynamic seemed pretty accurate, as did Roy's presence. And who knew that Zack's mannerisms could be replicated...
