Burningboy has been through many stages. Started singing along with motown soul records at the tender age of 10. Tearing a voice from nowhere trying to emulate Otis Redding ,Jackie Wilson and anyone else that crackled between the vinyl, the needle to the fuzzy speakers of the family stereo.Through years of just plain staying true to a love of music he has supported some of the cream of Irish music ,opening for The Frames, The Frank and Walters , Maria Doyle Kennedy,Mundy and Snowpatrol. He won the coveted opening slot for the 2FM 2MORO Tour 2006, opening for The Immediate. In November 2007 he was invited to record a session for the 2fm Dan Hegarty show. The session took under an hour to record as was discribed as 'One of the stand out sessions of the year', 'Pure, raw, beauty'.One of the songs from the session can be heard on this page 'Rise (to meet you).
He has now undertaken recording his first solo album.Producing it and performing it. Declining to take a tradition stroll down a singer songwriter path, the album will be ' a simple and thankful tribute to a the albums that sparked my love of music'. 'I'm not re-inventing the wheel, just running along beside it and hoping i don't trip over my laces.' As you can hear from the tracks the album will have a variety of styles. SURFY FOLKY SLOPPY ROCK...........or words to that effect ;P .
