We are Burning Moon from Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada. We play our own style of metal, blackened and unholy.
Burning Moon was formed in late August of 1994 by Khaos (bass, vocals, and keys), Loki (drums) and Idimmu (guitars). A year later, in December of 1995, the first demo titled Eternal Darkness was released.
Several months after, Idimmu left the band and was replaced by Weevil Tzaloth, and in 1997 released another demo Tribes of the Full Moon. This was basically a re-recorded version of Eternal Darkness with 2 new songs.
In June of 2000 Burning Moon released another recording titled Mayhem and Misery. Shortly after this release the band was disbanded for several years.
During the fall of 2005, Burning Moon was reformed by Khaos and new drummer Wrath. A Compilation album called 12 Years of Hell was released in early 2006. This contained a mix of songs from the first 3 recordings.
Late September of 2006 guitarist Malice was officially added to the lineup as well as keyboardist Ravendusk. A short while later Burning Moon started recording another demo titled Damnation and was released in early 2008.
During the summer months of 2009 Burning Moon recorded a new 3 track EP at Fat Cat Studio titled Queen of the Night. This latest recording has moved the band in a new direction of musical styling and sound concept, while remaining rooted in an old school black metal feel.
During the winter months of 2009/2010, Burning Moon plans to enter Fat Cat Studio once again to record another full length album.
Burning Moon is always ready to open, mid-card, or headline a show and have never shied away from sharing the stage with a myriad of other band styles ranging from punk to grindcore to deathmetal, delivering a more overall dynamic show to the audience and capturing new fans.
With a renewed lineup and recently released mini-cd, Burning Moon is ready to tour and eager to build their fan base.
