This project really could have gone in any direction. Music has been a fascination of Dan's all his life, and when introduced to rock and metal as a teenager, he hasn't looked back. Life has taken various routes, from the Alt. Rock of one former band Dust, to the Metal/Mathcore complexity of Novembers Dying Skies. However it wasn't until, by chance, a copy of Dream Theater's "Train of Thought" crossed his path that he truely opened his eyes to the way music could be. Not just something that demonstrates the fickle ebb and flow of trends, but just music that was "generally put together by accident but it seemed to work". The result of this is "One Final Day".
The 9 track album, recorded in various bedrooms on a budget of only £50, is the product of a determined effort to try and shape the album, for it to make sense as a whole, rather than it being a list of 9 random songs strung together. The album can conjure up a whole spectrum of emotions drawing on the influence of a whole variety of musical sources.
Currently, the EP tracks have been released in very rough form, just so as to give people a taste of what is to come. Over the next few weeks the vocal tracks are likely to be replaced, and then the whole cd mixed properly. After that the album vocals will be recorded, followed by mixing, meaning a release date for "One Final Day" to be some time in late 2009. Ambitious plans are being laid out for the release, with extra bonus features being planned for a "special edition" release, as well as various merchandise, the hope being that the word can be spread further, and that as many people as possible can listen to and enjoy Event Horizon.
Ahh cool man :P, Yeah I've got a lot of stuff going on, pisces cloud has become 'Cloud' and that has a myspace, I haven't put anything on it yet. I've written 5 songs for it, 3 of them are recorded, and I'm just using this as a way of getting all the mega complicated shiz I write onto a myspace. XD, looking forward to hearing the album and how its evolved man :D
