In early 2005, Marcus (voice, guitar) and Bill (drums, vocals) began tossing around ideas about a clean-sounding rock n roll band. They asked Adam (bass, vocals), friend and new-comer to the music world, to come aboard. With a combination of influences that ranged from early punk,hardcore to blues and jazz,Burning West was born.
A positive and emotional attitude, along with a mutual respect for each members musical creativity, quickly brought the band closer together as friends. Their cohesive nature became obvious in the mood and melody of their songs, bringing Burning Wests unique sound and design to the surface of Pittsburgh music.
After recording their first demo at LBC studios in early May, and playing multiple shows in Pittsburgh and Johnstown, Burning West completed their roster by inviting Matt, a.k.a. Rat-tail, to the lead guitar position. The three songs on this page are the result of that addition. The band is not together at this moment but remain close friends.
