This is a project that falls somewhere between our love of our community
and our disgust of a conventional music industry. We are a collective
of individuals who are frustrated with music being a commodity instead of
a valued form of expression. We are more concerned with building and
documenting community than we are with "moving units". More
importantly, however, we are doing this out of a love for Long Island
independent music, in order to document and help out the bands
who are doing this because they love music, not just their haircuts,
and would otherwise be overlooked. Of course, a few labels we would
consider influential, if not crucial, come to mind: Dischord, The
Mountain Collective, Traffic Violation Records, Ebullition, Profaine Existence etc.
Because this is what it's all about.
Don't fuck with the punks, because the punks WILL win.
