Burn it to the ground started in the summer of 2003 with Weeler, Gary and Mark occasionaly writing emo songs(think lawrence arms/small brown bike). At some point (early 2004) Ian Moore was playing with the band and we began to write more technical riffs. Ian moved to Copenhagen (possibly) and fitzy took his place providing dischordant guitars, heavenly screams and even some extra percussion. Although there were three of us singing the songs needed something extra so we got the kid from the shop under my flat in on vocals, enter Andy.
Andy brought gruff hardcore vocals to the songs and completed our chaotic sound. We began playing gigs and practicing very regularly. After being stung by a wasp in kilcoole on his birthday Fitzy decided to leave the band for a while to progress as a musician. It was shortly after this that we began jamming with Corey as a 2nd guitarist but due to internal tensions never got to play a gig with him and went our seperate ways. Corey joined Barntownwatertasteslikeblood and Andy plays in Denovisimus and Tunguska. Weeler, Gary and Mark continued playing together and eventually decided (with the permission of the others) to keep the old name although many of the new songs are quite different to our old style.
Expect elements of the Lawrence arms, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Thursday, Jawbreaker, Meneguar, blood brothers, Propagandhi and bear vs shark.
