What does that mean? Well, there isn't just one definition of The Burn, but here are some ways we do Burn before the Lord: creating space for God, setting aside time for God, focusing on the Beauty of God, and expressing our deep love, passion and longing for Him. Creating for God, art, dance, worship, song, prayer...just expressing ourselves toward Heaven in whatever way is an authentic communication with God for us. If we do this, something happens: because of the invitation we extend, and the space we create for God to show up, He is gracious enough to let us actually experience His Presence coming into the room to hang out with us! & Once God arrives on the scene, anything goes...
Who can watch TV when you've got the Presence of God with you? He gives us visions that surpass the best that mere imaginations can conjure. Nothing on earth can rival what we can see when God gives us the eyes. No contest.
About me: ..Nameless, faceless...in search of only one thing:
One thing I have desired of the LORD,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD,
And to inquire in His temple.
-Psalm 27:4
Who I'd like to meet: Everyone who wants to burn before God with passion & fire.
Come as you are. Pour out your heart before the living God.
Dancers, writers, artists, musicians, singers, worshipers, dreamers -- you don't need a special invitation, just consider this your monogrammed invite!
We have The Burn on the 4th Friday of every month, and it usually spans from 10 am to sometime past Midnight. Drop in any time, stay as long as you like, leave when you like. Eventually, we are looking for folks who will want to commit a few hours a week to worship and intercession (which just means a time of prayer, combined with worshiping in song, or in any way you want to) or two hours once a month to Burn, but first come down and just experience God's presence, and see if it's something you are called to pursue.
We meet at a cozy welcoming sanctuary from the LI stress!
