With my mixed roots I like a lot of stuff. - Jaci Velasquez, Nicole C. Mullen, Laura Pausini, Céline Dion, Norah Jones, LeAnn Rimes, Juanes, Gloria Estefan, Michelle Branch, Mana, Rascal Flatts, India.Arie, Tracy Chapman, Brian McKnight, Martina McBride, Seal, Los Lonely Boys, Jose Feliciano, Luther Vandross, Ibrahim Ferrer, Bacilos, La Ley, Los Enanitos Verdes and so on.
Movies
Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, just about everything animated in 2D or 3D is worth a look. Some of my favorite 2D includes Quest for Camelot, The Iron Giant, Castle in the Sky (and most of the rest by Hayao Miyazaki
), and Cats Don't Dance. I like most things sci-fi or fantasy. In fact, my wife is probably right - I like too many movies. This isn't really a fair question, how can I choose, what will people think of my choices? yargggg!!!!!
Television
Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, Lost, Heroes, The Sarah Connor Chronicles and lots of stuff from PBS. I don't have cable so I miss out on a lot of cool stuff.
Books
I still go through 3 or 4 fiction books a month so listing books would mean updating this box too darn much. Generally I read fantasy, science fiction and popular fiction by guys like David Baldacci, Dean Koontz, F. Paul Wilson, John Grisham, Dan Brown, Douglas Preston, Lincoln Child, David Eddings, Orson Scott Card -really just about anything that strikes me when I want to relax. ;)
I'm a 49 year old guy with a great wife and kid. I'm an easy going creative type but I suspect I look more like a dangerous psychopath. I returned to school in 2005 to pursue my childhood interest in art and writing.
I hope to offer my family a better life, and if I'm really lucky, produce some animated stories, write a few books, learn a little music, scribe a little poetry, and find a way to make the world a better place. I'd also like to build a 100 foot robot that I could use to PULVERIZE AND VAPORIZE MY ENEMIES!! ... err ... did I say that outloud?
Who I'd like to meet: Really creative/genius types from across the spectrum like Brad Bird, Bill Gates, Dean Koontz, Chance Thomas, John Lasseter, George Lucas, Stephen Speilberg, KPCC's Larry Mantle, Jimmy Carter, Stan Lee, Bono, Guillermo del Toro, Tom Hanks, Celine Dion and lots of others. I love ideas and the dynamic synergy that occurs when different types of thinkers apply themselves to a common goal.

when i was at comic con i found an awesome Iron Giant Poster.... i remembered that you had a Iron Giant 'image' on your myspace-- just thought it was cool-- Giant rocks!
How interesting. I started a new career at your age too, although I left the animation industry to become a writer. We'll have to chat more about your career move.
