Bushido Jujitsu Academy Instructors are also very active in teaching Law Enforcement Officers in a variety of tactical areas. Senior Instructors Robert Magao and Jim Kodzis have trained hundreds of Police Officers throughout New England and throughout the country in Arrest and Control, Ground Combat, Baton, Handcuffing, K9 training, physical fitness, use of force, riot control, building searches, Simunition Scenarios and SWAT training. Jim and Rob are the only P.O.S.T. accredited ground fighting trainers in the State of Connecticut.
Our police training classes are based on LT. Kevin Dillon,,s L.O.C.K.U.P. Police Combat System. LT. Kevin Dillon has over 25 years of police and martial arts experience and has trained police agencies, military units and counter-terrorist special operations units at the local, state, national and international level. Kettlebell Training
Mark Tomaszewsky will be teaching kettlebell strength and conditioning classes at BJA. Mark is a certified Kettlebell Trainer through The New England Kettlebell Association, LLC under Dennis Hill of Aiki Academy of Self defense in North Branford, CT. Kettlebells are ultimate tools for all around fitness and can replicate several different exercies giving you a great workout.
Friday: 4:00-6:00pm NAGA Competition Team Training (Class time may vary).
Saturday: 9:30-11:30am (Judo/Takedowns)
Open mat available 24/7 for academy members.Private lessons available by appointment.
About Our School
At the Bushido Jujitsu Academy, we offer a program that will develop proficiency in all realms of self-defense including stand-up, close quarter, striking and ground fighting. We offer quality instruction in the following martial arts; Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts, USJA Jujitsu and L.O.C.K.U.P. Police Combat. The academy offers classes for kids, teens and adults of all ages in a safe, fun and friendly training environment. We also offer Russian Kettlebell training for strength and conditioning.
The Bushido Jiu-jitsu Academy is part of the Pitbull Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Association. Our head BJJ instructor is Professor Fabiano Telles. Professor Telles is a BJJ Black Belt under Professor Bitta (Pitbull Gracie Barra).
Our academy is state of the art with over 1600 square feet of Zebra grappling mats on a spring loaded floor with matted walls. We also have 24 feet of cage for MMA training and a full line of Muay Thai pads, focus mitts and kettlebells. We have classes seven days a week and often host seminars with world class instructors such as Professor Bitta, Kenny Florian, Keith Florian and Renan Borges to name a few.
