It all began in the townships deep in the heart of South Africa when a group of dedicated musicians who were sharing their talents with children decided to help them record their songs in order for them to hear their own efforts.
Years later and numerous songs down the road NEW WORLD AFRICA RECORDS arrived in europe with "Kunjani", the first offering of authentic and re-mixed House tunes. Over the next year we intend to re-release much of the original music collated over the last 10 years.
Our latest project, "evolution", features stirring vocals and harmonies from Southern Africa. Drums, marimbas, African guitars and brass arrangements. Mixed in Europe to bring a mainline audio experience. The journey starts at Dawn and takes the listener through Creation into Conflict. Travelling on into Urban beats and Tribal dance. Mixed with a couple of classic re-mixes, this is African/Western fusion from the New World.
‘RIPPLE EFFECT’ "Keeping things conscious and following up their rather eclectic and experimental album Roots All Sorts, the MDV have just birthed a dynamic and vivacious live sound. Once again seasoned with that grounded MDV rootsy signature, the essence of this album speaks commandingly yet beneficently. The songs illustrate the bands live proficiencies - a steady resonance of authentic Roots Reggae, very often abandoned by the sounds of today. Ripple Effect is an intelligent and fresh assemblage of brilliant tunes with a slice of instrumental experimentation. Enjoy!" -AMF68
We always appreciate any feedback. GIVE THANKS MDV-1
