Bio
Singer, Song-Juggler, often self-proclaimed, the Original Gangster from Cleveland, Bushwalla represents the eclectic talents of Billy “Bushwalla” Galewood. A native of Cleveland, he started performing musical theater at the early age of 9 and in 1995, Billy set out to New York City to study theater at the American Musical & Dramatic Academy. While in New York, he supported himself as a street performer incorporating such feats as juggling, magic, chair- balancing, and fire-breathing. Now after spending 6 years in Los Angeles and 2 years in San Diego, Bushwalla’s sound is a unique blend of funk, folk, freestyle, acoustic hip-hop with a soul deeply rooted in authenticity and optimism. His writing talents came into being after notably co- writing Jason Mraz’s debut platinum album, Waiting For My Rocket to Come and sophomore release Mr. A-Z. Bushwalla’s debut EP release Ghetto Blaster (produced by Spooner Oldham) is cherished by fans worldwide and highly acclaimed in the Southern California media and radio circuit. The catchy hit Ghetto Blaster has left first time listeners and long-time fans with a reverberating melody that never tires. There the full-length album Autodidactical Freestyle & Radical, released in March of 2008, has been selling at a rapid rate with fantastic reviews on iTunes. Bushwalla is also known for his unique music videos/documentaries that have accumulated thousands of plays on youtube. Bushwalla and his “1-2-3 Band” experiment with an improvisational party-type atmosphere, captivating audiences week after week. His shows range from solo shows, trio, and full band performances. His RADICAL new album “The Man Who Invented the Sky,” (which is NOW AVAILABLE on itunes and online) hosts a far-out blend of styles along with stories sampled from his eclectic family phoning in their appearances from Cleveland, Bushwalla’s original stomping ground. Guests on the album include the Fabulous Dawn Mitschele, Pigeon John, Rebecca of Slow Club, Teenie Hodges, Spooner Oldham and the Voices of Prayze. This year has him touring the world and he headlined the Troubadour and Belly Up for the CD release shows. A sporadic, sing a long good time of a show. Jason Mraz - His appearance on all three of my studio releases should be an indicator that he remains to be perhaps my greatest musical influence certainly in the field of live performance. Of the hundreds - maybe thousands of gigs I’ve seen him do – he is constantly surprising me with newness -

The morning when you wake up after a foggy night contemplating your existence, the realizing you are inventing it all, and that you are in control. Its all up to you!!!!!! That"s what we sound like
