Myself, Jesse Slokum, as Busker4FREEDOM + whoever I can talk into playing...bass, accordion, lap-steel guitar, congas, tamborine...
Influences
You'll find PEOPLE on my FRIENDS list who are obviously dead, but have some seriously dedicated fans who carry their work on through the wonder of recordings...people like Memphis Minnie and Blind Willie McTell - although never experiencing the widespread awareness of them that exists now when they were alive, nevertheless made recordings whose soul and sound seeded the imagination of many people of my generation, those people who reached their teens and twenties in the late nineteen fifties...
Now here's my influences list:
ANYTHING by Alan WATTS including this: THIS COMMENTARY ON MUSIC & LIFE...animated by the SOUTH PARK GUYS
Woody Guthrie, Arlo Guthrie, "Joad" Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Richie Havens, Fred Neil, Phil Ochs, Eric Von Schmidt, Joan Baez, Richard & Mimi Baez-Farina, Michelle Shocked, Country Joe & the Fish, Leon Russell, Utah Phillips, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Tom Rush, the Beatles - as a group AND separately - Buzzy Linhart, Danny O'Keefe, The Byrds, The Band, as a group and separately, The Dharma BUMS, ZEN Tricksters, the Grateful DEAD, The Original Jefferson Airplane, when Jorma and Jack Cassidy were members, Neil Young, Louis Armstrong, CAB Calloway, Fats Waller, John Coltrane, The Ink Spots, The Harp Tones, Curtis Mayfield, Sam Cooke, Bob Marley, Burning SPEAR...Mark Bingham & Caroline Peyton, both separately and as members of the Screaming Gypsy Bandits...Will Davey Satterfield (May he r.i.p.). Martin Simpson, Jessica Radcliffe, Randy Handley, and a Banjo player named "HEAVY" that I heard at the Freight & Salvage in Berkeley, CA - He could play PURPLE HAZE... on banjo and make it work! A long time M.C. at the Freight & Salvage, whose stage name was MUGS MUGGLES (he taught me the meaning of SLA-A-A-ACK...LOL!!!)
Want to visit my "ALTER-ego?" (Diogenes DELARUE)
Moogy CoWrote Ya Gotta Have Friends with Buzzy Linhart
I no longer felt alone after I first saw/heard Irwin Corey, and when people complain about my cryptic obtusity, I tell them I have a certificate from Corey's Rhetorical Institute of Bamboozlement - that's C.R.I.B. for all you acronym fans...
There's only ONE...
Sounds like a perfect storm to me...LOL!!!
Let's follow that with some REAL classic stuff
STAY TUNED, for more "influences"
Sounds Like
the quiet voice in your head that NEVER screams or steers you wrong...
Busker4FREEDOM is a solo guitarist, singer/songwriter who has others record and perform as the situations present themselves...Busker gives credit to all those who have added their talent and sound whenever a recording includes more than just Jesse Slokum, who IS Busker4FREEDOM
..
Busker4FREEDOM makes solo appearances and has stood in twice with Michelle Shocked, in Bloomington, Indiana since 1996, during her legendary STRAWBERRY JAM song.
Delving a bit further back in history, watch busker4freedom movin' to be groovin' along with Richie Havens during the Woodstock Festival FREEDOM Medley. He's the lad with his back to the stage clapping along as Richie Chants CLAP YOUR HANDS!
Charleton Heston is gone & I don't "DO" seance sessions, so I'd simply like to meet whomever stuck the following sequence in the Omega Man, where Heston plays NEVILLE, the guy in the theatre, watching a movie...

An hour of power and peace TUESDAY, MARCH 17, 10:00 p.m. EST
We have designed this section to assist you in promoting yourself, your events, your charity, your career, or someone that you feel really deserves a shot. Let's face the reality, we are all in this together and no one truly makes it alone. So, consider this your new "soap box" if you will.... your new corner to blow your horn, or to give someone else the extra acknowledgement they truly deserve.
I am hoping to get the book out for the 40th. I've heard that Angus Wynne, one of the main organizers of the original festival, is thinking about doing a reunion, but I haven't heard from him.
