Her music tells a story, moving through enigmatic lyrics and vocals while embodying various musical influences from funk to down-tempo, with huge pop appeal. This sultry songstress brings a fresh approach to the music scene with an unmatched performance and a charismatic presence that can be compared to no other artist around.
There isn’t any question of why music and movement come so naturally to Lisette. Her Venezuelan father was the lead singer of a 13-piece salsa band, her mother, hailing from the island of Puerto Rico, a championship winning salsa dance queen. Her brother is one of the most recognizable names in Latin music, playing Latin percussion for the late Celia Cruz. Growing up in a house full of sound, rhythms, and music, Lisette naturally developed her talents for music and dance. Writing her first song at 8 years old with her father, she then knew what she would do for the rest of her life. “I always wanted to perform as a kid, anywhere, you name it, the grocery store, at school, at home...there was nothing else I wanted to do but sing and perform.”
Lisette began studying music and dance at a very young age, in turn leading to a fruitful career in the entertainment industry. Fresh out of high school, Lisette began to travel the world as a back-up dancer for some of the biggest names in music. Being one of the most sought after dancers in her field, she soon developed a worldwide fan base. From there, she went on to be a creator of movement and style, choreographing and conceptualizing the tours and live shows for Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and Paulina Rubio and was the artistic director for the 2005 Latin Grammy Awards.
In 2005, Lisette began her journey into the world of music. She was introduced to producer/ musician/ songwriter, Blake English who would be one of the creative forces in establishing her sound, and would help her cultivate a style of music that is timeless and undeniable. Lisette is an integral part of the development of her music from lyrical conception to production, and has a keen sense for artistic concept from sound to visual movement. Lisette Bustamante is a performing powerhouse with artistic accountability and along with an incredible sound, brings exotic looks, sex appeal and a body that can move like no other.
