Busted Wire's genesis finds itself in the fall of 2002 when Jim Ivins formed the original band with Kyle Miner and Michael Phelan. After playing a succesful first show in May 2003, the band continued and began the writing process. Eric Barley was brought into the camp in February 2004 to what seemed to be a solidified lineup, however it was the opposite. Bobby Gary was brought in the next month and Busted Wire was complete. The band played started playing more shows and doing more originals as opposed to more covers as the year progressed. In October of 2004, Michael and the band parted ways, igniting a major change in the band. Bobby was no longer a solo vocalist and took over Kyle's previous duties as bass player. Kyle would now take over Michael's previous duties as guitar player - this new setup immediately clicked and more writing continued. As the band continued to play more shows throughout 2005, the idea of recording emerged and as such the band entered the studio in June 2005 to record their debut EP, Unravel The Wire, blending some of the songs that helped form the foundation of the band, as well as the new songs. This CD would prove to help the band broaden their following immensely and in the summer of 2006 the band recorded their first full length album Fly. In April of 2007 Bobby Gary left the band after almost four years with the band. This was a huge blow to the band and the band was completely inactive for months. However in June of 2007, Busted Wire was re-born and Drew Martin joined the band. Jim moved to lead vocals while Kyle and Drew are taking care of backup. The band hopes to go straight to the top and farther than they could have ever imagined.
