My Beloved Brother Steve

With a new year comes a new beginning with God! It doesn’t matter how awful and dreadful this year has been, or how much you have struggled and failed - you have a new beginning. If you had a good 2008, a year filled with blessing and prosperity, you can have a more blessed and prosperous year in 2009! The point that you need to focus upon is this: You are on God’s path for your life; and the path grows brighter and brighter unto a perfect day (Proverbs 4:18). Your best days are ahead, so forget the past and get excited about tomorrow.

Think of it - the book has been completed on 2008, and you are about to start”Chapter 1″ for the new book of your life: 2009. You can fill your pages with anything you want; you are the author of your life; so fill the pages of your life in 2009, with God’s promises and have faith in His love to produce them. It doesn’t matter how badly you messed up, or how little you have achieved in 2008; forget about it - it’s the past! It states in Philippians 3:13 (New Living Translation) “No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead”.

As 2009 begins, go before God in prayer and get into God’s Word. Go through the Bible and get the promises of God that cover your life situations and goals for 2009, and bring them before God during Holy Communion: Remember, the Bread and the Wine is a powerful representation of the Body and Blood of Jesus. And So when God desired to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. Hebrews 6:17-18
