STATEMENT
"Butterfly Coma" IS DEAD !Long live "THE MERCURY ARC"
(This is NO joke! Please read and re-post / spread the word)
After 1 year of quarrel and disagreement Butterfly Coma decided in late 2008
to continue the band without Sky Hoff as a guitarist. We sat together with
Sky, talked about this major issue, and went separate ways.
Shortly after, Sky implicated the band in legal proceedings concerning the
ownership of the band name "Butterfly Coma". As this band has always been
about making music rather than going to court, we finally decided to pick a
different band name, in order to be able to quickly continue our way.
Dennis, Benny, Thomas, Dominic, Sven and Andy (the new guitarist) now go by the name of:
"THE MERCURY ARC"
We have written lots of new kick-ass stuff and we are getting ready to
record them right now. So prepare for getting hit by our debut-album soon this year.
Now we need all your help to spread the word and support THE MERCURY ARC!!!
We rely on you!
THE MERCURY ARC (formerly known as BUTTERFLY COMA)
The history of
THE MERCURY ARC began in February 2006.
Back then 6 blooded musicians formed up, still under the old band-name of BUTERFLY COMA, to create uncompromisingly heavy, but yet multi-layered melodic music, beyond stale Metalcore stereotypes. The stated aim was to establish a musical massif of various styles of Metal and Hardcore.
The band’s music stands out with it’s cutting
aggressive guitar riffs, paired with catchy melodies which
are borne by several voice vocals and spherical keyboards.
The driving drum rhythms and grooving bass lines along
with the brute shouting of the singer form the backbone of
the songs. The blend gets flavored with cutting-edge
scratches and samples.
After taking adequate time for songwriting, rehearsals and debut live shows the band recorded their first selftitled Demo.
The songs were produced by keyboarder Benny (producer of the latest CALIBAN and EMIL BULLS album) and got mixed and mastered by Jacob Bredahl (Hatesphere) at Hard & Smart Studios, Denmark. In addition the band recently shot their first music-video at Europa Park, Rust. The Video clip is directed by US-singer Marc Terenzi. The visual highlight of the video is official Miss Germany Nelly Marie Bojahr playing the star role.
In late 2008, after ongoing disagreement, the band decided to continue without Sky Hoff as a guitarist. Shortly after Sky implicated the band in legal proceedings concerning the ownership of the band name "Butterfly Coma".
