"Buxter Hoot'n's, self-produced first album, Here in America, has the independent rawness and creative brilliance that leads to a cult classic...one of the great American bands of today" -- RELIX MAGAZINE
"A glimpse into the future of San Francisco's slightly psychedelic songwriting scene," (SF Bay Guardian) Buxter Hoot'n is an experience not be missed. Their music is a gritty and eclectic form of rock 'n' roll that draws from a deep reverence for tradition and psychedelia.
Buxter Hoot'n's homegrown sound had its start in America's heartland in Indiana where brothers, Vince and Jimmy Dewald lived and played music before moving to San Francisco. Songwriter, Vince Dewald, has since put together an ever-growing catalogue of songs that is both poignant lyrically and stylistically diverse. Their first album "Here in America" was hailed by RELIX MAGAZINE as having "the independent rawness and creative brilliance that leads to a cult classic." Moving effortlessly through blues, rock, psychedelic and world sounds, Buxter Hoot'n has forged an original brand of music that is uniquely their own.
Ben Andrews, lead guitarist and violinist, is one of the best young multi-instrumentalists in rock music and performs with that rare, fiery brilliance that can take over an audience at any moment. Drummer, Jeremy Shanok adds an element of spontaneity that often brings the band interplay to ecstatic heights. Vocalist Melissa Merrill adds great depth to the music with her expressive background and lead vocals. Vince Dewald's passionate vocals and guitar work, along with Jimmy Dewald's explorative bass style, perfectly completes the soulful, musical-stew that is Buxer Hoot'n.

Amazing Japanese hot string band playing 1920's, 30's, 40's style hawaiian, swing, calypso, blues, italian music and originals, featuring vintage instruments.3 songs with Robert Armstrong and Tony Marcus(from Robert Crumb and His Cheap Suit Serenaders)
"The Sweet Hollywaiians have probably the best feel for this 20's music of any string band working today. They manage the rare feat of sounding relaxed even when their playing is hot, are top notch musicians with tasteful arrangements and a full, rich, warm sound.Plus, they have a nice gamut of tunes, from King Nawahi to Giovanni Vicari to Bobby Leecan. See them live, if you can, for an unforgettable experience. If you can't, buy their Cds!" ~ Terry Zwigoff
