Buzzcutz is a weekly podcast produced by The GoTriCities Network and GoTriCities.com. Hosted by Jared Bentley, Tom Bettini and David Cate, this weekly Internet programming is a street-level view of the regional music and entertainment scene located in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
Your hosts:
With experience in radio and television, Jared Bentley is also a talented singer/songwriter who has performed throughout the region with bands including Culture Shock, Clear, Yukon, and Slow Motion Trio. Jared acts as the moderator/censor/ring leader for the podcast, trying to keep it on track as much as possible.
Tom Bettini is a Kingsport alumnus who left the mountains in the eighties and reached incredible heights in the music business working with platinum recording artists Jackyl. Tom is a professional bass player and regional musician who continues to perform regularly throughout the region and mentors many of the area’s great players. Tom will never let his opinions stay hidden from the BuzzCutz audience.
David Cate is the New Media Director for The GoTriCities Network and is also professional pianist working in the region with bands that include The Watch, Ahab and the Wailers, Reagan Boggs and Clear. David performs regularly as a jazz improviser and works a day job on a keyboard with letters and numbers. David acts as the BuzzCutz facilitator/instigator/braintrust.
Each week, Buzzcutz will present an entertaining program focusing on the musical news of the week, major and minor events, concerts and general gossip from the music scene as compiled by the online music forum The Buzz (gotricities.com/thebuzz).
